Keep what you earn. StarOne charges a flat subscription and takes no commission on any delivery — every dollar you agree with a customer is yours.

What you earn

The published rate is $1 per kilometre, with a minimum $7 fee for deliveries under 5 km, paid directly by the customer to you.

That is the whole calculation. There is no surge multiplier, no per-job rate set by a formula you cannot see, no deduction for a promotion you did not agree to, and no percentage taken off the top. A 12 km delivery is $12. A 3 km delivery is $7.

What it costs

A flat monthly subscription, charged by StarOne. That is the only money StarOne takes from you, and it does not change with how much you earn. A driver doing forty deliveries a month pays exactly what a driver doing four pays.

If your subscription lapses you simply stop appearing in customer listings. Your account, your ratings and your delivery history are untouched and come straight back when you renew.

What you need

  • A valid Canadian driver's licence, or proof of identity if you deliver by bicycle
  • Vehicle details — make, model, year and plate
  • Current insurance
  • A smartphone that can run the StarOne driver app
  • To be at least 18 years old

Bicycle, scooter, car and van are all supported. What you drive determines the size of job you are offered, not whether you are welcome.

Getting started

  1. Create your account. Google, Apple or a one-time code. No password to manage.
  2. Choose your city. StarOne operates in major centres across all ten provinces and three territories.
  3. Upload your documents. From your account, in a couple of minutes.
  4. Wait for review. A person checks them — usually within two business days. You are told by email and push either way, and a rejection says what was wrong.
  5. Start your subscription and go online. You appear in customer searches immediately.

How customers find you

When you are online, your app reports your position so nearby customers can see you. They are shown your approximate distance, your vehicle, your rating and your completed delivery count — never your exact location.

Listings are ordered by distance from the customer, and by nothing else. There is no promoted placement to buy, because there is nothing to buy: every driver pays the same flat fee.

Your privacy

Your licence number and identity documents are encrypted and visible only to the administrators who review them. Customers never see them. Location reporting runs only while you are online and stops the moment you go offline. Your full delivery history is yours to see in your account, and you can close your account at any time.

Ratings

Only customers who completed an order with you can rate you, and each order can be rated once. A review can be hidden by StarOne if it breaks our rules, but it cannot be bought or removed on request — which is what makes the number on your listing worth having.

Common questions

  • Do I have to accept every job? No. Customers call you and you agree the work between you.
  • Does StarOne handle the payment? No. The customer pays you directly, and StarOne takes none of it.
  • Can I drive in more than one city? Your account belongs to one service area at a time. Contact support to move.
  • What if a customer does not pay? Open a ticket. We cannot recover the money, but we keep the record and we act on patterns.
